Chief Architect / Senior Network Engineer

 

Involved in variety of high-profile projects for Advanced Business Engineering division.  Supported proposals of Broadband Internet Data Center for multiple large international contracts, including various network design and documentation efforts.  Acted as Chief Architect for Broadband Lab research and development project.  Performed trade studies for Unified Messaging solution and other services.      Responsible for overall design of Internet Data Center product and decision-making authority over policies and procedures, equipment selection, purchases and documentation.    

Supported multiple network design and engineering contracts for national Internet Data Centers installed for global customers in China, Kazakhstan, Portugal and other countries.  Worked with vendors for design and pricing, including Sun, Cisco, Hewlett Packard, iPlanet, Stalker and Novell.  Acted as business development support with both internal and external clients at various sites about the U.S., doing presentations and promotions of the IDC and LMGT.  Presented proposals to both commercial and government contract bids.  Supported engineering of Set-top Box and TV Head-end systems for MPEG-2 Cable/ISP project as both developer and review board chairperson.

Responsible for maintenance of NT servers across 35+ site WAN Enterprise for large chemical corporation.  Developed and documented infrastructure standards for servers and WAN.  Maintained servers and monitored security and backup procedures.  Provided support as central point of contact for all local administrators at remote sites.  Supported first-level support desk and IT director initiatives.

    Responsible for the development and support of the Data Center and WAN for a $30 billion mutual fund company.  Hardened network for security and audit purposes, and developed all relevant physical and conceptual security policies.  Met with vendors and contractors to scope and develop network, software and WAN solutions.  Developed and implemented Y2K disaster recovery plans.  Selected, configured and maintained network routers, switches, firewalls, servers and various ISP and WAN solutions.
